Restoration Decal Information
PLACEMENT FOR THE WATER TRANSFER MAYTAG DECALS THESE
SHOULD BE PURCHASED FROM DAVIS ADVERTISING, NEWTON IOWA.
Just one black & gold decal was used per Maytag engine
manufactured before 1933.
On all of the 1/2 H.P. upright Maytag engines 1911 through 1922. The
black & gold
decal is on the large side of the fuel tank. On all of the model 82
Maytag engines 1923
through 1927, the black & gold decal is on the side of the fuel tank
just above the drain
plug. On all of the model 92 Maytag engines manufactured up to 1933
used the black
and gold decals it is placed on top of the crankcase, with the top of
the decal towards
the flywheel. On the other model 92 Maytag engines manufactured 1933 and
later used
the three color red black & gold decals. These Maytag engines had
two decals on
them The Maytag Multimotor decal is placed on top of the crankcase,
with the top of
the decal towards the flywheel. The 92 'a with low base fuel tanks
had a notice decal
on the rear of the tank. The 92's with deep fuel tanks had a notice
on the rear of the
tank too. The 92's with long frame fuel tanks had a notice
decal on the left side of
frame. All of the twin cylinder Maytag engines used the red, black and gold
decals. The
cast iron tank with mounting bolt holes in bottom, and the four lug
cast iron fuel tank
models had the Maytag Multimotor decal on , the rear of the fuel tank
and the notice
decal placed on the left side of fuel tank just below the fuel filler
cap. The twin model
with the mounting base on top of the engine and the aluminum fuel tank had
the Maytag
Multimotor decal on the rear of the fuel tank and with notice decal
on the front side of
fuel tank just below the exhaust outlet The twin CYL. model with the
long frame had
only one decal, it was a round caution decal and it was placed on the
lower face of the
starter gear shield. 'Me last engine used on the Maytag washing machine was
a model #
wrn Briggs & Stratton engine with a mounting bracket fastened to the
head bolts and a
belt shield mounted on the wind cover. This engine had the regular
Briggs & Stratton
decal on the wind cover and a black & gold round Maytag caution
decal on the belt shield.
